Head of Digital Marketing

Full-time | Budapest | Hungary

Reporting directly to the CMO, the Head of Performance Marketing will be responsible for the planning, implementation/optimizing and analysis of all digital marketing campaigns/channels for shows and news site. This position is key to future growth and will be responsible for the top-to-bottom execution of our digital marketing strategy.

The candidate should have a data centric approach, capable of consuming multiple streams of data from across our shows and websites, and using data to influence, educate and drive a multi channel marketing strategy, that includes attribution. The candidate will have a very strong background in Search Engine Marketing (Google, Bing)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for a multichannel marketing budget across 3 countries.Responsible for developing the digital marketing strategy, and creating a team of international marketing and paid search executives.
  • Responsible for full budgeting and reporting against agreed KPIs.
  • Accountable for return on advertising spend across all digital campaigns.
  • Responsible for creating a strategy to support the broader business, by recommending and implementing digitals strategies that will drive both footfall and awareness of the news website.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering the SEO strategy, both technical and content marketing, working closely with our content marketing and production team.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with latest best practices across digital marketing and working closely with our third parties such as Google to be early adopters for any new channels/technologies which may enhance performance.
  • The digital marketing strategy needs to ensure that all areas of the customer journey, from prospecting through to loyalty/retention, is appropriately covered.
  • Responsible for developing strong collaborative working relationships with other cross-functional department heads.
  • Responsible for the following digital channels to drive store footfall and web revenue:
  • Paid Search (Google, Bing)
  • Remarketing (Google, Bing, Facebook)
  • Display Advertising (Google)
  • Affiliation/Partnerships
    • Should hold some combination of the following certifications: Google Adwords Certification, Google Analytics Certification, Bing Ads Accredited Professional.
    • Must have knowledge working with Linear & Time-decay attribution models, as well as cross-channel attribution, preferably retail and ecommerce.
    • Requires hands-on knowledge of best practices in SEM and a proven track-record of delivering qualified traffic from both an acquisition and conversion standpoint.
    • Experience managing SEM campaigns in a retail environment. Including knowledge of Local Inventory Ads, Display, Remarketing, YouTube.
    • Experience working in a high performance multichannel environment with multiple KPIs.
    • Ability to communicate and influence at C-level.
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to drive meaningful actions from large data sets, and the ability to overlay attribution to understand causality.
    • Proficiency in MS Office - especially Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
    • An organized individual with exceptional attention to detail and focus on quality of results.
    • A self-motivated leader; a good team player.
    • Experience managing a diverse team in a high pressure, forward thinking environment.
    • Takes accountability and ownership of his/her own work.
    • Bachelor's Degree required; Marketing/Mathematics/Engineering Degree preferred.
    • Experience within events business is highly desirable.
